About this Costume
Construction Details:
Avatar took a LOT of time and love. All of the jacket designs are extremely detailed. I constructed all of them free hand out of various sized bias time. There are little to no references for her, and only a few cosplayers have attempted it, so I had to piece together what I could from the official Japanese art book and some of Morgan's Design. The shirt fabric was surprisingly hard to find, as well as a design for it. Instead of going with a generic tank top, I created a spring steel boned corset. It worked wonderfully though it is 3 layers since I did not want the boning channels to be seen on the final product. The large belt was created out of craft foam, reinforced for strength, then painted/weathered with acrylic/latex paint.
Personal Thoughts:
Some close friends of mine had been playing the Fire Emblem Series for a while and when Awakening came out they insisted I give it a whirl. I have not looked back since. :D Avatar/Robin is my favorite character in terms of skill and costume design so I wanted to portray her!
