About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I used Kona cotton fabric from Fabric.com for the outfit. I made a mock up for the dress and then made the real thing lined. After putting the zipper in, I put it on my dress form and painted it. For the Pants, I used a simple pants pattern and shortened them. It really helped to have pockets on my costume. I glued on over 200 sparkles to the top and bottom. The shoes are a pair of painted flats sparkled about three times with spray adhesive and then sealed with spray paint. The pom poms at regular yarn. The wings are wire with iradescent film. The wire is glued on and then dried for 24 hours. Then I ironed the wings. The base is wire, foam board and duck tape and it is held to me with a belt and ace bandages.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I would like to eventually redo the wings. They were the most procrastinated thing about this costume and even though I like how they turned out, I wish they were a bit more sturdy and didn't hurt as much to wear.
Wig Details
- How was the wig colored?
- none
- Wig Review
- I need to fix parts because some clumps of hair aren't staying to the base
