About this Costume
Construction Details:
This was a big ol' task for me. I had never done a major wig styling job like this before. I chose to make all of the hair into snakes, not just snakes coming from the hair. Because Nadeko's hair became snakes, they didn't just pop out. They're never quite uniform either so I got creative, especially with the one on top. He's my snake ahoge. The end result was 53 snakes.

I can think of several things I should have done, mainly using wire base and then foam, not pure foam carving since it would have resulted in thinner snakes I think. But overall I'm pleased with the result! Even if my snakes are mistaken for antlers sometimes...
Personal Thoughts:
Medusa Nadeko was my favorite part of the second season! All of Araragi's harem has issues, don't you go and say your waifu is the exception. Nadeko is just the snakey one.

And I feel for that adorably scary little psycho...

Styling Notes
Top of the wig: Stubs were created, foam snakes were carved, snakes were wrapped in hair with hot glue, and then glued to the stubs. Between making the top stubs I had to add wefts for the bald spots that appeared, that was my first time doing that. Back of wig: Hair was cut to the appropriate length and stubbed (cut pieces saved). Then I used a stretchy fabric to make a snake shape, filled it with some plush filling, covered them with the cut pieces of hair, and finally attached them to the stubs. They were smoothed out with product. XD Honestly they look like those little toy mice for kitties. The little red eyes were glued on the top and bottom last!
Wig Review
I can't say enough good things about Arda wigs. I love em.
