Construction Details:

The 3D Maneuver Gear was a combined effort of GQBravo and me. It was our first time really making props... and in this amount of detail. It felt like such an accomplishment when the gear is all done! The hardest part is to figure out how to secure the sheaths on the thighs and still be able to walk/run freely. Overall, the gears survived three days at the convention with no malfunction so I'm glad. The only things that require repair are the blades which had become dull... as in the real battles haha...

Personal Thoughts:

Levi is my most favorite character in Shingeki no Kyojin. Not only is he considered humanity's strongest soldier, he is a clean freak and he cares a lot about the people under his command despite his harsh demeanor. I woke up super early to do this shoot on the last day of Otakon. This time I only spent one hour on the makeup. Hehe that's a major improvement! I wish I could stay in this costume longer but I had to head back to the hotel to pack.
