About this Costume
Construction Details:
the plugsuit took me one month to make, but i took a couple of months just to plan and get all of my materials. i used 4-way stretch vinyl which was very very very hard to look for and it was a miracle that i did. i wasn't confident with the base so i got a black zentai suit and glued the blue on (which later became a problem for me). for the armor part i mostly used craft foam. inorder to smooth out some of the foam i used calk (that stuff you use in your bathtubs).

the hardest part was making the armor, but it was also the most fun part imo. i basically took sheets of foams and cut slits in them to create a curve or whatever shape i needed. in order to get the glossy look i applied several coats of mod podge to seal up the holes in the craft foam, then spray painted it white, and finally sprayed sealer on top. i used model magic around the "screws" (which was also made by layered craft foam).

the actual suit part was also very difficult. i hot glue gunned the blue on the black zentai, but i had to wear everything as my mom glued everything down (it's pretty obvious but i got horrible burns that are still healing lol). but because the vinyl is plastic the glue didn't stick to well... so in the end my mom and i had to hand stich several parts. it was very difficult especially because the zentai and the vinyl had very different levels of stretchyness...the black lines where drawn with black marker. (fortunately my marker was very good and is made for drawing on any surface, but my friend who cosplayed rei used a different marker which smudged everywhere and became a huge mess).
Personal Thoughts:
one of the most hardest and most uncomfortable cosplays i have ever worn haha never. again.
