About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The cape is not seen really well in the reference image so I had to make a lot of it up. I really enjoy having some creative license when it comes to creating costumes so designing this was a lot of fun. I embroidered all of the roses that are seen on the costume. There is a total of six of them. All of the detailing around the edge is also embroidery. The rose on the top back and the cross at the bottom are airbrushed with hand painted outline and resin gems. I tried to keep the gold and purple theme through all the layers as well as the cross and rose detailing that is throughout this artbook image. The cross is made from a combination of paper clay and resin with the same resin gems as are on the outfit. The chain is three chains braided together.
The lining of the cape is hand dyed and then I airbrushed a large rose on the inside and added some gold and purple detailing. I just love doing details that never actually get seen LOL. The shirt and cape have matching airbrushed crosses on them with resin gems and then I hand painted a purple border around them. The cape also has an airbrushed rose with gold detailing on the back.
For the shirt I used a scallop stitch on my machine and went around the entire ruffle of the sleeve with purple thread, and actually made this match with female Yuki's dress. - Personal Thoughts:
- As soon as I started watching this series I really wanted to cosplay from it. It has great characters and some of the artbook outfits are amazing. When it was decided we were going to try the WCS, it seemed like these costumes would be a fun choice to go with even though the series is fairly unknown.
