Construction Details:

Made to wear at PMX with my beloved Space Invader, this costume is from a single illustration of all the Madoka girls baking cakes. The costume is made of black and cream shirting with a slight stretch and the apron is lined with a horrible polyester that we accidentally bought when looking for chair covers. It matched the apron and ended up being very useful! The costume was not especially difficult, just time consuming. However, I over complicated things by capturing all the ruffles and most of the seams on the inside of the dress. There was an awful lot of superfluous serger and bias tape used in this costume but we did want to show that even a maid costume can have some good construction. (But seriously, it's a maid costume)

Personal Thoughts:

I really had a great time wearing this costume. I know I say that a lot but I typically choose costumes I love and I am REALLY excited that I'm able to use my Mami wig for multiple costumes because it was so GD expensive and so pretty. I also love performing and I had a great time with Mike, Han, and Spacey doing our skit with all our fake cakes and running around. Winning something was kind of a bonus to be honest.
