Cosplayer andreamakesthings > Costume of Celes Chere (Final Fantasy VI)
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
The dress is made using a Simplicity Marie Antoinette pattern and made from a durable, upholstery fabric. I chose to go with that fabric as opposed to an apparel fabric so that the dress would have weight and substance, would be easier to wash, and mostly for the pattern of the fabric. The construction of the dress took about six months, with the bows and collar being added last. For Anime Boston 2010, I redid both of those parts. I wear a large petticoat underneath the dress.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love Final Fantasy VI so much and the opera is my favorite scene! This was one of my first cosplays so there was a LOT of trial and error since this was a really ambitious project for me! I don't know if I'll be wearing this costume again, but it is a lot of fun to wear it and connect with other FFVI fans!
- Styling Notes
- Some of it is pulled back into a ponytail in the back and tied with a ribbon.
- Wig Review
- I love Epic Cosplay wigs! They're so soft and easy to de-tangle. The color looks a bit strange on me, but that's just my skin tone not meshing well with the blonde.
