About this Costume
Construction Details:
The outfit itself was purchased online.

I made the Blue Rose Sword from pine wood, dowel rods, leather, and clay. The blade and crossguard were cut separately out of pine wood and glued together, with small dowel rods inserted for extra stability. The hilt is a whole dowel rod cut to length and carved on the end. The rose and leaves were modeled out of air dry clay and glued on the crossguard. I wrapped and glued white leather around the hilt for the added detail.

I made the sheath from cardboard boxes, duct tape, and white foam sheets. I wrapped cardboard box sheets around the blade and taped them together. Then I covered the taped sheath with white foam. I added two strips of foam with eyelets and connectors to attach to belt clips. I made two belt clips out of leather belt strips that I riveted.

I tried to follow the source novel as closely as possible when creating the sword and sheath, and in the end I think they turned out really well!
Personal Thoughts:
It's hard to miss Eugeo in the sea of blue!
