About this Costume
Construction Details:
I used my go to princess seam bodice pattern and altered it from there. The skirt began as a half circle. The fabrics are matte satin, Casa lace, and rhinestone tulle. I created my own bias tape from the matte satin using my bias tape maker.

I cut the gloves on the bias so they stretch with my arms a bit. I created the sleeves from Fosshape using a heat gun and covered them with white spandex for a smooth appearance. I also added some hot fix rhinestones. The boot covers are 4 way stretch Lycra that slides over a pump. They have a tube of fabric with piping filler on top. I sewed them to a pair of dance tights so they stay up.
Personal Thoughts:
I made this so I could join the PreCure Army for Anime Expo 2015, which was basically a giant gathering of sparkly, rainbow magical girls! Cure Sword was one of the characters left when I decided to join. I love purple, and her costume has some interesting elements. She also has the least insane hair among her teammates! I watched Dokidoki! Precure just in interest of doing the costume, but I turned out to really like the series and other PreCure series quite a bit!
Wig Details
Wig Brand
Arda Wigs
Wig Name
Jeannie
Original Color:
Pure White
Wig Quality Rating
5 / 5.00
How was the wig colored?
iDye Poly
Styling Notes
The wig is an Arda Jeannie in white that I dyed lavender with iDye poly. I styled the strand curls by using packing tape and tacky glue. The rest was just curlers or curling iron and and lots of Got2b glued hairspray. I also sewed wefts in the back to fill in the part.
