About this Costume
Construction Details:
The shoulders' epaulettes were made with furniture foam and stretch shimmery polyester around them to give the right color and the look/depth I wanted without making the shoulders too bulky and/or heavy. I also have hand-embroidering on them for the lines (looked better than a paint or marker, after all). I used beads from Joann and two other bead galleries (I'm picky) to create the tassels and beading connected to the epaulettes. The left sleeve's design is actually an extension of the sleeve instead of a just bias sewn over top of the sleeve (again, an eccentric touch of mine).
Personal Thoughts:
It didn't have the draping I wanted, but it was still fun to wear with my friend, Dokudel. I also noticed that it only takes 4 hours for my 5 o'clock shadow to set in...
