Hmmmm, I would buy thin leather and sew them onto the edges of the dress. But I would also support it with a frame so that the dress isn't dragged down into the ground by the weight of the belts.

Well, Lulu's belts are known to be on the thick (for width) side so I figured, since it would be hard to find so many belts that would fit your purpose, to just make them. Second hand shops is where I would hope to find cut up belts but I thought that they would perhaps be a little too thick to sew onto the dress and maybe a bit expensive if you want a lot to cover up your legs just like Lulu.

Also, think of weight. The leather made ones would be great because it would require less attachments or whatever on the dress to make that stay up. Real belts, while handy dandy, are heavy when clustered together like Rice Krispies.

thanks for all your help. I think i'm going to buy half and make half, and layer them so the thicker ones that i make will look real, but not be too heavy. Again, thank you!

Being heavy or being the light ones, your dress will still be pulled downwards. Get some support with that.

Im actually doing that right now on my own Lulu comstume. I have bought belts from planet aid and such for very little money. Big w00t for the 2nd hand stores! I am starting to think about just getting felt and making 'belts' out of those. I've already put 3 or 4 belts on the skirt, but since its heavy, that's all Im putting on. I can just put the felt behind that and no one will know the diff. ^_^

glad to help, fellow Lulu cosplayer
