Momiji Seifuku Help!

Hello, I'm a girl around the height of 5'5'', Kinda large around the middle (I'm not fat!! Just Average sized..^^;; ) and a bit top heavy....I decided to do the Seifuku for Momiji of Fruits Basket..How much of the blue material should I need and how much of the white do you think...? x.x;;;

Oh, and do you have any pointers about the hat?

If you guys can't help, that's fine...But if you can..Tips are greatly needed.

a seifuku should'nt take more than a yard of white and just a little (half a yard) of the blue, right? For a seifuku, all you do is sew a rectangle, then sew on the obtuse triangle fronts and tie those together. after that, put on the trim. ^_^ Hope my non-detailed general walkthrough helped!

'Seifuku' refers to the whole uniform, doesn't it?

The surest way to find how much material you need is to look for patterns that are similar to the uniform. The back of the pattern envelope will tell you how much fabric you need and also whether you need any zippers or buttons. I think a ladies' suit jacket or blouse can work; you'd just have to add the sailor collar. I believe you'll also be able to find a pattern that would do for the hat in the winter accessories section of the books.

And like Laura92 said, a yard of white for the collar should be plenty.
