Sailor Fuku

Post by Laura92 » Thu Jul 01, 2004 5:39 pm

Hi! I feel like the biggest bakayoro in the world for asking about this, ^^;
but how exactly would I go about making the little sailor suit uniform top that about 20 billion anime costumes require? I know its just a shirt with the little collar thing, but are there any patterns or the like for those collars?

Any help is appreciated. Im just fishing for ideas, I have a general thought of how to do it, but I think I would screw up. I guess what Im really asking is:

HOW DID YOU DO IT?

well the collar construction is actually quite simple once you looked at it. You can buy a pattern for a sailor suit or look up costumes from simplicity or McCalls for ideas on how to make it.

I don't think anyone can screw up if they plan things out. If you are worried but would like to try a pattern out make a muslin (a mock version) before you make the actual costume. ^^

yea, I figured it out. I made a practice one and it came out pretty good, so I just fixed it up a little and made it the real one.
