Lolita in a week??

Post by kiki_bunny23 » Fri Oct 03, 2008 3:32 am

Ok, so me and a friend are making lolita dresses for a haunted house my school's drama club is doing. We're supposed to be dolls 'controlled' by the 'crazed toymaker' and I was wonderin if it was possible to make a lolita dress in a week?
I was planning on using an alice in wonderland pattern Like this person did....is it possible? And would it ruin the whole perspectiveness [trying to achieve the look of a doll] of lolita if there were cuts and stuff all over our arms?
Thanks to any that can help. The tiniest bit can help me greatly...oh and one more thing. I will mostly be sewing by hand, would that hinder the progress? and Laura is prolly gonna be over like after school every day that week so I won't be doing it alone.

Don't sweat it- there is a lolita style here in Japan called guroroi. Gory Lolita. It's pretty cool looking too- they have wounds and blood all over them, so try looking it up. There are lots of simple patterns for homemade lolita skirts all over the internet, so try looking for that. It shouldn't take too long. Also, they usually have lolita-ish shirts and blouses at normal stores or thrift shops, so try looking there.

gurorori is guro lolita or gore lolita.
Lolita is pretty easy to make if you know how to sew
just look on egl comm. on Livejournal and do research b4 you ask a question.
you can go here for a simple skirt-
http://www.antipope.org/feorag/gosurori/
the shirt just look at some designs and you will get it.
For the jumper or onepiece it is a simple dress with a square cut skirt that is gathered at the seem.
Be sure to make/buy a petticoat. If you have never made one i suggest buying.
You can get a cheap on at F+F
www.fanplusfriend.com
they have one for $20 too and all of there petti's are instant shipping so you should get it in time. (if you ask to rush order)
