HELP WANTED: Crisis Core Cloud Help

Post by Ryozu Miazaki » Mon Mar 10, 2008 12:34 pm

Allo world. Well, I sort of need help with the Cloud cosplay and it's Cloud Strife, but it's his guard uniform from Crisis Core. I was wondering if I could get some help on the cosplay, like how to spike the wig correctly or the material for the pants and the shirt, that sort of thing. This is the cosplay I'm talking about:

for the top and srafe go with either a nice thick knit or heavy cotton
for the knee pads...use kneepads cover/paint them to make them look right
the wig...HAIR GLUE...scratch that...REAL GLUE smuther and spike. you can also use the small styrophome spikes you can get from hobby stores like hobby lobby
use brown viynal or leather for the straps

Viynal is a form of plastic, Car seats sometimes claim it's leather. Another form of Viynal is also used for grill covers and some even call it pleather.

you can order it from fabric stores if they don't already have it.
...and no don't rip it out of the car.
and yes it is a form of fake leather. so you might want to check the ..apolstry fabrics at a craft store like hobby lobby.
for fabrics try hobby lobby, hancock fabrics, johanna's (online store with some locations) you will have deffinet luck with johanna's so try there...if i spelt it wrong...sorry.

you don't have to go anywhere special for aqua net. It's just cheap crappy hairspray you can get ANYWHERE (grocery store, CVS Robomi Z, target...) which is not so great on real hair but works great on wigs.

"Viynal" = vinyl (in case you're trying a search, you'll need the right spelling)
You can find it at the fabric store or poke around at the thrift store for a coat or something that's the color you want and cheap since you'd be slicing it up.

I haven't checked to see if they have a wig that will work for what you are doing, but generally Amphigory.com is best and cosworx.com is not bad, either.

The following links have some wig tutorials that may or may not be helpful. It's a good idea maybe to read them over and you might get an idea of how to do what you need to do anyways.

http://www.katiebair.com/tutorials.html (there is also a forum on this site that you may be able to ask someone for help)

http://hemuloki-sama.livejournal.com/

http://www.amphigory.com/ (at the top go to "wigs" then "wig tips" then choose which one you'd like to see)
