Will there be a cosplay contest?

Don't know, I just found the web site while looking for conventions. They are having a planning meeting this weekend so maybe they'll post some thing.

I came across this thread via Google and figured I could help answer your questions. First of all my name is Michael, but I go by Zippy online. I am one of the exec. directors for Anime Blast Chattanooga.

We will pretty much 100% be having a cosplay contest. What we're working on, and this will be part of this upcoming meeting and other meetings, how it should be formatted, if we should add any more elements, etc.

Awesome! If I can attend I will more than likely enter the contest. All I can say as far as advice goes is to make sure that you have unbiased judges: people who will vote purely on skill level for each category. I've attended far too many conventions whose judges cast their votes based on who the cosplayer is, what series they are from, and personal prejudices. Especially so if the judges are local cosplayers. Just make sure the judges are completely professional.

I completely understand that. I have a similar issue asking for work during the summer months. Well if you can join us we'd of course love to have you. ^_^

You don't have to have signed-up as a volunteer to attend, but if you
are a volunteer certainly if you have questions for us to answer in-person
we'll be happy to do so. ^_^
