New and need ideas... HELP

so i have been to a few cons, (Afest twice and Akon twice) and i dressed up but with lackluster success. mostly because i never really put thought into what character i could depict the best and i also want to start making my own costumes so they look realistic instead of thrown together....
Im 6'0 ft flat
about 175lbs
and as you can see im a little bit darker than most people,
and i am working out right now so i hope to be in a little bit better shape when i go.
