I just have a simple question about 1st cosplay costume

I'm planing on going to Anime Central 09,my first convention and cosplay, as a Shadow heartless,I have a idea for the costume, but I'm not really for sure. I'm planing on making my own shadow heartless hat, but I'm lost for the rest. I thinking on wearing some pure black clothing, and wear black makeup,dye my hair black,black body paint, and I could have used black contacts, but I need to get my eyes check before I can even wear them again, so they are out. If you guys have any other ideas, that would be great.
