Cosplay ideas?

I'm trying to find an idea for my friend. She's fairly new to cosplaying (first time), but she's not watched many anime series, so she's struggling.
She's around 5''4 (slim build), with shoulder length brunette hair that's naturally curly, and green eyes. It needs to be something that we can put together pretty easily, and as low-cost as possible please.

I think something like Bleach or Death note comes to mind.
