Neko cosplay

I'm new to cosplay and was wondering if somebody could help me out with neko accessories. I'm not looking for anything too extravagant, just ears and a tail. Though I would like them to look nice. I plan on spending around $45 USD, so please keep my budget in mind. >< Ah! I really want them to be soft! ^~^ I know that cat ears aren't really soft... but they'd be cuter if they were, right!? =3

I was actually more looking for a guide of some sort.
I guess I didn't really put enough emphasis on that.

I know some people who make them who could probably help you out with a guide to making them and what not!
