Help~ ! Kairi's Outfit : Material ?

Post by mikki » Wed Jun 04, 2008 11:36 am

My friend has decided to help me make the costume , all I need to find out what the best material would be . n.n

Here's her outfit ~

Things like the belt and shoes seem a little difficult , so if anyone is willing to explain or give me any ideas on how/what to do them would be great ! (:

I was thinking of just trying to find some converse or shoes that look exactly like those, even though it'll be hard. . Especially since all the shoe stores I go to never have too much too choose from. :/

Thank you ! <3

I also forgot about her keyblade . oxo
If any one knows how to make it; or a site that shows instructions-- could you please tell me ? ^ ^-

my friend made kairi and she just bought off brand converse at walmart and then just painted them to be the right color with acrylic paint. The paint works very well on the canvas part for the purple , but it peels off on the rubber to make the sole black so I would just color that part with a black sharpie

Haha, yeah I was thinking that!
I was just at walmart and I forgot to look in the shoe section. But I looked at targets, and they have nothing. D|
So, I'm going back to walmart another day to see if they have any high tops. (:

Well, her outfit doesn't seem to be shiny at all, or leather-y, so I would just go with something kinda sturdy, since you are going to have to put all the zippers in. Don't get anything stretchy. I would recommend probably just a regular cotton/polyester blend. That way, it won't wrinkle too much. Just be sure to pre-wash it before you start sewing so it doesn't shrink on you!

p.s. that kind of fabric dyes pretty well, so if you don't find one in the right exact colour, you can always dye it the right colour.

Thank you so much! 8D

I bought the fabric, so I'll keep in mind to remember to wash it before anything. (:
