First cosplay - Caboose must be born!

Hey all, im pretty new to the cosplay scene and next year for A-kon i am determined to go all out on my costume and go as Caboose from RvB. From what I have read so far, the Master Chief suit requires a high attention to detail and there are tons of different methods as far as what materials to use and how to put it all together. ( ill post an image of the suit once i figure out how >_<)

Anyways, im looking for either advice on materials and construction methods OR someone in Arlington, or the DFW area (Texas) who knows how to build one (has done so before) and would be willing to help in any way.
