I was hoping that anyone who has constructed their own Spike Spiegel costume could give me some help on mine.

The sportscoat Spike wears is significantly different from a normal jacket. Due to this, did you just get your own fabric and construct a suitcoat from scratch, or is it possible to alter a pre-existing sportscoat to work. If so, was any extra material required as an add-on or not.

Basically, I'm just at an impasse on how to begin.

well, i think it would be a good idea to buy a pattern and modify it because then you have complete control over the materials and everything. aside from modifying the pattern, just follow the directions exactly that the pattern will give you.
