Fur Dying

Post by Hemuloki-sama » Mon Mar 01, 2004 1:26 am

I've searched for hours on forums and then on "Google", which was a mistake since I was lectured on all the sites about how wrong it is to kill animals for fur. Well, whatever!

I finally decided to come here for advice since I couldn't find any advice anywhere else. How can I dye fur?

It's a costume idea that I've had in mind for whenever but I want to know if making it isn't too much of a long push.

For those of you who are interested in, the costume is above and lo and behold, it's Shuichi, the God of all pink!

look on ebay. I found some fake fur junk on ebay.

Dyeing fur...hmm. I dont know exactly how that would be done. Maybe you could just drain out some markers lol

Yay! Shuichi! XD LA LI HO!!!!!
I'd suggest using fabric dye. You know the type you can buy at fabric stores? It comes in a packet and is a powder that you mix with boiling water, then dip the fabric. I'd think that that would work, but I don't have much experience working with it. ^_^ Good luck!

yes i agree with kiarrens... but i'ld blow dry the fur dye and use a horse brush or at least a fine brush((without the plastic needle tip)) to dry it so it does get matted easily... or if you what a white and highlighted pink look you can put the dye in a spray bottle
I want to help save the world... if only I could remember how?

I'm a dying champion so getting the fade effect will be easy, however, I'm holding off the costume for now so that I can work on my Ritsuka one.
