I was wondering if any one has any tips on making a mermaid's tail. I am doing Sora from Kaleido Star, and I need some help. Here is a pic.

Hm. You'll have to be creative. Perhaps there is a costume pattern that you could use as an outline. (However I think they only come in children sizes)

This is pretty creative and may not work, but there could be a way to modify a skirt. *shrug* Either that or you would get tissue paper, lay down, have someone make an outline of where your legs will go (but obviously leave room for hem and whatnot). If you did that I suggest three panels. One front and two in the back where you could put a zipper (the zipper doesn't have to go all the way down.)

I have one more idea.
You can make an illusen.
Instead of making the tail, you would make shorts or pants that were skin tights and do whatever else you need. Like A shiny transparent skirt or something over it.
I saw it in some cosplay photo's but they were'nt online. Sorry!

Under the tail is a skirt and leggings that look like a tail. I wanted to do both.

Well if you can't figure it out now you'll have to opt for one thing or another. You didn't say this nor did I know about this part.
