I need to change my hair color for my coustumes, and I hate wigs. Any body have a hair color brand that they like? I need it to be a silvery-white color, like this:

Piccy

Any tips? Or would a wig be the way to go?

To get that colour your going to have to FRY your hair on bleach to get it white and then use grey colour wash. Or you could find a colour Jiraiya in your area and ask them to do it.

Unfortunately, for white or silver hair, it's very difficult to achieve using dyes. Most people I know will just go for the wig, given a choice. It will seriously damage your hair, if you do go with the bleaching. I would definitely have a professional do it. I have heard way too many horror stories about self-bleaching. Good luck.

Depending on your starting hair, it could be very easy or very hard to get the color you want. If your hair is like a platinum blonde, it'll be technically easier than say, if your hair is black.

But for white...man, that would take a lot of time to completely strip all color from the hair. It would be cheaper and easier just to get the wig and it would take less conditioner to make it look nice since your hair would need a lot of it to make it look healthy again.

Okay, thanks! I'll go with a wig. Any ideas where to get one? I'm pretty lost when it comes to this sort of stuff... >.<;;

Try this place.

Yeah, I'd go with amphigory. Maybe a straightened femme fatale? Or there might be another short wig I can't remember right now. I think their white color is sometimes a bit silvery, but you could go over the color with grey or silver sharpie or some wig dye if it's not dark enough for you.

We learned a little secret with this in Band Camp. We do dress-up days to boost section spirit. Anyway, it was Mr. Hickey day so we had to make our hair that very color. This is what we did:
1. An entire case of baby powder
2. White hair spray
3. Silver hair spray
4. Another case of baby powder
5. 2 more bottles of white hair spray
6. 1 1/2 bottles of silver

Worked for us. Our hair looked just like Hickey's, which is the same color as Sukasa's.

I hate it when that happens. Doesn't the school know they can't go on without you?

Other wig places:
http://www.witchwigs.com/
http://www.wilshirewigs.com/

I usually buy my wigs from Wilshire.

Yeah, Witchwigs has very erratic quality. Like sometimes they'll have very nice wigs and other times they have costume quality. It's because of their suppliers but still...>.>

That kinda goes for any place though. I usually order in bulk with a group of people. I haven't had any issues yet, but I'd really rather go through Wilshire anyway.

Hmm, yes, well I've found many places in large cities sell wigs of great qualities. Especially in San Fransisco. If you want a nice wig, sometimes it's best found off the computer.
Or, you could have them specially made by pros, and I know how good Katie Bair is, but you can get a wig of the same quality if not better for a lower price if you go for wigmen. Most will be found on the east coast. They make wigs for most of the plays. A friend of mine got an Inuyasha wig from the person who did the wigs for Cats ::starts singing Macavity::. She bought the ears from Nezumi, but not the wig. It's the best Inuyasha wig you'll ever see.
