You can use regular foam, that's just fine, but be prepared for a little growling just because sculpey -for some reason- just doesn't like to stick to it as naturally as it does to wood or some other things. Try cardboard if you can get it to get the shape you want but if you make the shape with seperate pieces, it'll be fine.

But if you are good with sculpey and get the width you want, you'd be surprised by how little sculpey you use. I had a lot left over and my bangles and armbands were thick when I finished.

No, your oven will be fine. Just put the scupley on a tray like it says.

my precious bar of sculpey is gone, and its quite heavy on its own.
so if i do use foam to enlarge the bangles more, how do i shape it?

Shape what? The foam or the sculpey over the foam?
