I want to make a Shikon no Tama...

Post by M_Ring_Grl » Sun May 02, 2004 8:44 am

I've got some things down to use, like a glass marble, one of those jewelry things that you put into the thing you want to hang off the chain. My aunt said that when she was little they used to bake marbles until they cracked, then put the jewelry hanger in the marble and glued (or superglued) the marble back together. Would that work for a glass marble? And I want to make mine the actual size of the Shikon no Tama, which is why I want to use a large glass marble.
...Would any of my schemes work?

Hmm.
Yep, I'd use a large glass marble.
Just drill a hole in it.
The whole baking thing sounds too risky. :?

Shikon no Tama

Post by Heavy Blade Rena » Wed May 12, 2004 8:16 am

'kay.
I've made this before, so I can tell you what to do.
The glass bead sounds like it'll break easily- go to a craft store and buy a box or pack of BIG fake pearls. They should already have holes in them.
Next, just paint them, maybe with nail polish. The Shikon no TAMA is a light purple in color.
Then you'll need exactly 41 beads. They should look like this-

<> . 'kay?
Then, you'll have to do the hard part. string on the beads, and tie knots to hold them in place. VERY time-consuming, but it works.

Have you ever been to cosplay.com? In the classifieds section I saw several adds selling Rose Quartz Shikon jewels, full sized and everything. If I can remeber right, they weren't that expensive either.
