My sister cosplayed as her Gaia avatar two years ago and a surprisingly large amount of people knew where she was from! And she wasn't wearing any signature pieces such as an AFK or Goti Clips or anything.
It was alot of fun and I'm planning to cosplay mine soon. n__n

Well the back of her dress has a hood like so [x] so I suppose you could somehow integrate the cape and the hood together if you wanted, or maybe make the hood larger to serve as a type of cape. I guess it all depends though on whether you want a cape as a method of warmth or design.
