*gah* Final Fantasy costuming is getting too hard!!! If you're willing to try starching it, I would suggest getting some good heavy interfacing and lining to bits you need to stick out with that. Then if you do need to result to boning, the fabric will be easier to keep stiff in betwwen boning. *mut...

It can be. I'm the costume co-ordinator, so it can be a lot of work too. We'll(or they since I'm not in this show) be doing a performance at AO this year, using the show Bleach. And we just had a try out for our next show at Fandemonium, which is based on Kingdom Hearts, now we're waiting to see wha...

Actually, I posted that a year ago. I'm proably not atttending the convention this year, since you can only get tickets in advance, and I think they're sold out. I will be at various room parties, since I'm in Ichidan(not in the show at this AO though), and friends with a few other guests whom I don...

A friend of mine just did a Tifa made out of fakey leather. It's quite a bit less expensive than real leather, and easier to sew. It looks really good for the Tifa too.

You make a full length dress the same way you'd make a short dress, only longer.

I'm 5'0. I've cosplayed characters that were 6'0". It's all in how you carry yourself. I've done a Lulu before. She's much taller than 5'0". Just make yourself the character, and it won't matter how tall you are. I've seen incredibly overweight people play , for example, Chi. One in particular pulle...

When we did the Kingdom Hearts show, we made several different keyblade prototypes before we finally made the final two that we used in the show. The one that worked best for us was a wooden dowel with the hand guard and key bit made of jigsawed wood and glued/nailed on. They turned out very beautif...

What kind of help do you need exactly? I'd suggest finding a pattern and altering it. The dresses design is really not very complicated... In fact it's not really victorian either, it just very goth. There are great patterns in simplicity.com, or mcalls.com that can be altered or even taken as they ...

Wings tutorials or advice

I'm making a pair of wings for a Skuld costume. I've never made wings before, and I was wondering if anyone could help me find a tutorial that will help me to build very large wings. The picture is in my sandbox. I also am trying to figure out what materials I should use that will make the wings loo...

Anime Oasis

There is a really great, though admittedly small con in Boise, Idaho every year called Anime Oasis. 2006 will be it's fith year, and I encourage anyone who lives near the area and enjoys a good anime convention to attend. They have a website at www.animeoasis.org which has a list of guests and events.

I'd suggest using fabric paints(not the puffy kind). Just stick a peice of cardboard or something inside thitights so the color doesn't run. Or so they don't stick together! It'll be MUCH better than trying to sew the shapes on. good luck! Let me know how it turns out.

Ahhh yes. Making a plug suit

I've noticed before that there have been plug suit threads, but there isn't one now, so I'll ask. I'm helping my friend make Shinji's plug suit from Evangelion. I've never took on an endevor like this, so I'd like any helpful hints and suggestions I can get. We were thinking of doing it with spandex...

Haha, I'll just bet you can tell I'm getting ready for a con! I need to make gloves for one of my costumes. I'm making a Devil Hunter Yohko swimsuit for an anime swimsuit contest at a local con.
