Oh yes, Tia likes vinyl. But that kind of goes with being a Jrocker. Heh. Joanns just got some great vinyl in too. This perfect red for a Misato jacket. I've been looking for it for so long! Figures that I don't have time to make that costume now. That's always the way.

Yeah. I don't know what it is, I've just never worked very well with patterns. Oh well.

I typically just use vinyl myself. It looks just as good and costs less. All I use is a regular Singer machine, but it is pretty much the top of the line, so that may be an issue. Your machine might not have enough power to get through it. In that case, I would suggest you invest in a serger. It's c...

It really depends on what kind of schoolgirl it is. There's some nice cotton/poly blend stuff that's a bit heavier than just plain cotton in case you have trouble with the fabric being too light. You don't want the skirt to be see-through.

You're welcome. Yeah, I just finished the skirt I was doing and it seems to be much easier than the ironing. That's just me, though.

Hmm. Here's another way to do it if you either don't have an iron or you hate ironing as much as I do. You still have to iron it afterwards, but you don't have to do such a detailed job and work one pleat at a time. Take three times the width of the final skirt. Figure out how wide you want each ple...

That'd be me. I specialize in high-end, detailed costumes. Pretty much, if you have an idea of what you want, I will create a costume for any character, whether it be from an anime, game, Jrock, or completely original, from scratch. All you have to do is give me a few detailed pictures and your meas...

Well, I would do it as a standard applique. If you're having difficulty, I'd use heat bond. I'd probably sew it on myself though. If you ever decide to do Ruby Moon's other costume, talk to me. I've been wanting to make it for a long time.

I would take pvc pipe approximately the width you need, cut an opening through the side and then make a tube of fabric to cover it. If you can find it, use the stretchy shiny lame stuff. I usually see it in the skater's/dancer section of the fabric store (I spend a lot of time in that section). I do...

If the problem you're having is that the hair in the back isn't long enough, what you can do is make yourself an extension ponytail. Take a package of yaki hair extensions in the right color, take a ponytail holder (one of the really thin ones) around the extension at the halfway point, pull it so t...

Hmm. What I'd do is use a really silky material for this, but make sure it isn't see-through. For the sleeve elastic, you can get some white blanket binding (they sell it at fabric stores next to the bias tape) for the bit at the end of the sleeves so you don't have to worry about cutting the fabric...

You don't put the actual pipe in there. You push the stuffing down into the tube with it. It's the only way I was able to stuff my cat tail. Incidentally, if you really want to make it stand up, I'd try bending a piece of a wire hanger into a circle and then, after the sleeve is stuffed, pushing it ...

I'm not really sure if I'll be going or not this year. Been to a bunch of cons, and could use a little break, but I'm interested in some of the guests that are going to be there. Hopefully I'll know soon.

I have found the best way to stuff is to use about inch-wide pvc pipe that I found around the house. I would suggest doing each sleeve bit separately, and leaving a seam on both edges except on the very edge, and only have one seam on that part. I think she has three sleeve bits? That would mean you...

I don't know if there are features elsewhere besides florida, but I have found that they have the best base masks. I couldn't find a good enough one at Michael's, but I was able to find a bunch there. They also have several different solid colors although I don't remember what they are since it's be...
