About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I used McCall's pattern M6420 to make the dress. The pattern didn't need a whole lot of modification aside from the collar, stuffing the sleeves and adding my own trim. I've never made a ballgown before and it was a ton of work! I almost gave up on the costume when it came to connecting the bodice of the dress to the skirt and peplum. It was so thick to sew through!
This was also the first time I got to wear a hoop skirt with a costume. I originally wore it with a 3-hoop skirt, but I later upgraded to a 4-hoop skirt. The costume was a real labour of love and isn't perfect, but I'm really proud of all of the work that I put into it.
My crown and brooch were made by my friend t_toast. The tiara attaches to my wig using a strong magnet. It was a really smart way to do it and I love the resin gems! :D - Personal Thoughts:
- I've been dreaming of Cosplaying Princess Peach ever since I was a little girl. She was always my favourite Mario Bros. character and I loved playing as her in any Mario game that had an expanded list of playable characters. I adore pink and I've always liked her design. I'm glad I finally had the confidence to try a project like this.

- Styling Notes
- My friend Pan helped me style the two bang curls and she cut my bangs for me.
- Wig Review
- I love how curly this wig is! It works nicely for Peach's style of hair.
