About this Costume
Construction Details:
Same pattern I drafted for Merida's first dress was used for this one. Celtic pattern at the hem was illustrated in photoshop and screen printed then I hand painted a gold outline around it. Belt is made of pleather and screen printed with her gold celtic design which I illustrated in photoshop. Bear belt buckle is made out of sculpey. Sash design was also illustrated & colored in photoshop and sent to spoonflower to print. Gold braid trim at the top of the dress and on the sleeves is hand painted gold.

Wig is custom made by me and was months of work hand curling every strand!

Wooden sword was bought on ebay and spray painted. Bow I've had for years and is the one I shoot with, in order to make it look like Merida's I made leather panels which wrap around it and tie on like a corset - bear designs are hand-carved into the leather & painted. Medallion and rocks at either end of the bow are made with sculpey. Arrows are also hand-made.

Cape made for ALA 2013, designed off the Disneyland park's design. Wool fabric with hand-screenprinted trim, hand sculpted clasp medallion.
Personal Thoughts:
o/ cosplay all the Meridas!

I sell Merida's belt and her bear necklace at my etsy shop: OrzabalsKitchen.storenvy.com
