About this Costume
Construction Details:
: / My Oichi description was pretty long, and this one will be too~ so from top to bottom~

The hat - made of craft foam, painted with acrylic paint/fabric glue, and the gold lines were drawn in with Rub n Buff. The hair stick was from another hair piece I already had.

Mask: also craft foam and acrylic paint, lined with gold Rub n Buff.

Collar: gold/black decorative trim was from Joann's (this is going to be redone because I know the design on his trim is a specific one). Designs to be added silver and gold shantung fabric, heat n bond, and satin-stiched along the edges. The gold trim of the collar is also satin-stitched, and between the blue satin layers is interfacing to maintain the structure. (white part of the collar is white shantung).

Coat - Done in blue satin, lined in black brocade, and the black designs on his coat are the same black brocade, applied to the satin via heat and bond and satin stitched in gold. The gold trim is gold shantung, also satin stitched along the inner and outer edges. Teal belt is made of a ribbon, silver chains attached to the silver plates.

Armor = Not sure how many plastic plates I ended up with in the end (I know it's over 240), but each piece was 1.25 wide by 2 inches. I punched the holes in each one, and used scrapbooking brads to both give it a riveted look and hold the brads to the underfabric. The trim was also craft foam and rub n buff. The chest piece is made of craft foam, glue-cured and painted with Rub n Buff. It's sewn onto the underfabric. The chest piece was originally separate, but after Fanime and a closer look at the art I decided to attack it to the rest of the armor.

Armguards and Knee guards - craft foam, acrylic paint, and gold rub n buff

Boot cover- also blue satin and the design is gold shantung heat n bonded to the satin. The tip of the boot is made of wonderflex, and painted with Rub n Buff.

Can't decide if Shi was more time consuming than Oichi. He may well be. Attaching the armor plates to the armor fabric took about 7 hours, that's not counting the measuring, the hole-punching, the cutting of the plastic. >_>

Still, he was a fun cosplay to work on. XD
Personal Thoughts:
This is my favorite character in the series (he ousted Zhou Yu >_>), so I couldn't resist making his cosplay. Still WIP though~

I also cut...12 incheas? of hair for Shi. :3 Which ironically I was growing out for Zhou Yu : /
