About this Costume
Construction Details:
All parts of the outfit that required sewing were done by me. I also made my boyfriend's Sun Ce outfit as well. This included all the accessories, armor, and shoes. I had a lot of help with the painting on Sun Ce's scarf and detail work on Sun Ce's waist straps from Hakuku and Keita since I was very constricted on time and I suck at painting and freehand drawing. x_x;; I also had Adora's help with the shoe and strap buttons for my Xiao Qiao outfit because I fail at using Sculpey. Long story short: kind and helpful souls were the reason why I pushed through the completion of two Dynasty Warriors outfits. A billion thanks to those who helped me out. ;u;

I think the hardest part of the outfit was approaching all the craziness that is on Sun Ce's outfit (Xiao Qiao was pretty much all straightforward patterning and sewing, so that wasn't a big deal for me). I ended up making the upper half of Sun Ce one single piece with all the details put on it so all my boyfriend had to do was zip himself into the outfit. |D;;

I managed to get her fan done for Fanime!! Evalime helped me out a TON with all the prop-related questions I had, he helped me out with the shape of the fan and actual stringing together of the blades while I (along with friends and BF) muddled around with the cutting, spraying, and stenciling of the blades. I did all of the painting work and the final detailing. SO MUCH LOVE FOR THE PATIENCE from my more artistic and prop-successful friends~ T_T
Personal Thoughts:
It was tough trying to bust out two Dynasty Warriors outfits for ALA especially when I found out that we were going to be wearing it on our own from the large group that was put together, but all went well in the end!

I was sad that I wasn't able to get my fan done for ALA (even with all of evalime's help and advice), but I wasn't expecting to get either of our props for ALA, so hopefully both will be done for Fanime or Anime Expo! This goes for having a complete group at either one of the conventions as well! Edit: my fan was finished for Fanime, one day I'll get around to Sun Ce's humongous tonfas~
Wig Details
Wig Brand
Epic Cosplay
Wig Name
15" Straight Short
Original Color:
Cocoa Brown
Styling Notes
The wig was originally a bit past my shoulders but I chopped off the remaining length of the wig and used it to make a hot-glue style pigtail that was pinned into the wig.

Once again, hot glue only really helps if you are last minute with making a pigtail but I don't recommend it since it's very messy and painful to do. x_x;
