Construction Details:

Since the actual dress was bought and the gloves and tights were just dyed, I concentrated on little details such as making a belt to make the dress look a little less plain, or giving a new life to an old pair of shoes which I revamped and painted. I'm not very proud of the wings: I used wire, craft foam and chiffon to make them and I like how they look, but the wire was not enough to make them stay in shape >_< I plan on fixing them to make them stronger.

But what I really like about this costume are my googles! I bought them on eBay and they were modified with Butterfree's antennae and "mouth" and the frame was painted blue. I received a lot of compliments for them and I'm so happy people think they're cute :3

Personal Thoughts:

The idea for this group came up during a birthday picnic party: we wanted to make a group with easy and cute costumes from a series we all liked and Pokémon gijinka was obviously one of the first options that came to our minds. I looked through all the fanarts taking into account the wigs I already have, and I finally choose Butterfree because I'll always remember the episode where he left Ash's team! XD

I really enjoyed the time I passed with this funny group, the costumes were really comfortable and we had a great time together, even though some people couldn't attend the con due to RL issues, but we hope we can wear them again :D
