About this Costume
Construction Details:
Most major pieces of the costume were actually commissioned by Cosplay Mandy: http://photobucket.com/cosplaymandy The Shoes were actually crafted by me. The base is a regular dress shoe made out of a material called corofram. Then wonderflex was molded on top of the shoe to give it a pointed design. 3D fabric paint was used to create the raised designs. The buckle of the shoe is made of craft foam, and acrylic fabric paints were used in order to paint all the pieces. A little piece of Velvet ribbon was placed into the middle of the buckle to finish it off. The Leg Armor was crafted by wrapping craft foam in a suede like material. This was all hand crafted, so it took around 5 days of work to get all the stitching done. The silver cross is actually wonderflex painted with acrylic fabric paint. The raised design on the cross is made with 3D fabric paint. Wig started off as a White Ashley Wig available from the Cosworx store. The hair was tied off at different places so that i could layer the wig, then the wig was dyed using Katie Bair Petting Zoo Wig Dye so that the tips of the wig would be frosted lavender, while the main bulk of the wig was still a light white color. The feathers are actually a blend of an Ostrich feather and turkey feathers, which some feathers were dyed, and others were left white. I also body sculpted for around 6 months for this cosplay in order to trim my waistline while widening my upper body, shoulders, and thighs. Kuja has an odd figure, its very simular to the X-frame that female body builders have, lol. I figured the body was part of this particular cosplay. This cosplay is actually surprisingly comfortable physically, its just not so comfortable emotionally, lol. I was actually surprised by how many people still recognize Kuja since Final Fantasy IX is a 10 year old game. I guess Dissidia really sparked some life back into it.
