Construction Details:

This is my take on what Amaterasu would look like if she were a neko in her full god form. I bought the kimono from a vendor at Otakon 08. The shoes and socks were also bought at Otakon 08, even though they can't really be seen. The ears were another purchase from the same year at Otakon. The gloves are actually the ones from my Sailor Jupiter cosplay. I needed them to keep from getting splinters on all the wooden pieces. The rest was all hand-made by me. The prayer beads are actual glass beads that I bought and strung together and attached to a wooden dowel, which I painted the same color as the beads. The reflector was hand carved out of what was originally a wooden turntable and hand painted silver,it's still not fully finished. The celestial brush was hand crafted out of a large wooden dowel and wooden napkin holder all painted the same color green. The strands of the brush were just yarn cut to roughly the same size and glued into the napkin holder. Then the napkin holder and the yarn were glued onto the dowel and a stretchy string was stretched over top of it to keep it from tilting,which obviously didn't work very well. I still have to get the yarn to stay together and dip the end of the yarn in some black paint to get the just dipped ink effect. My friend who's in special effects will probably be redoing the celestial brush since I don't like the way it turned out. As with the other Amaterasu, I will be eventually getting a white wig for this.
