About this Costume
Construction Details:
This outfit is pretty complex, with many layers. I'll do my best to break it down as much as possible.

Main dress
The main top layer dress is made from 100% linen which I dyed myself. Since immersion dye works best with natural fibres, I chose linen but, I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Linen creases like CRAZY. Use something that is mixed with some polyester or other synthetic fibre to avoid your costume from creasing throughout the day.

All the details on the dress are a mix of appliqué and hand embroidery. The hand embroidery took a whole summer to make and I worked on it during breaks at my job or while enjoying a beer with friends. Cosplay on the go, that's what I do. Overall, this was the longest part to work on.

Under garments
Lymle has a really vintage looking set of under garments which constitute of a night gown and a pair of bloomers. I used really thick cotton for these to help them keep their shape and volume. I sewed a ribbon on the gathers and then added the bows which I stuffed so they'd also keep their shape.

I also added a customized tutu for even more volume! Ouuff.

Shoes
The shoes are a pair of boots that I covered and embroidered by hand. I also made a pair of spats to go with them and glued some buttons.

Armour
All the armour pieces (around shoulders and hair) are made from craft foam which was plasti-dipped, painted and varnished. To help it keep it's shape I added strips of worbla on the inside. This is a cheap way of getting a nice shape without making the whole thing from worbla.

For the gems I sculpted the shape I needed from clay and made a mold of it using mould builder (latex.) I then used resin casting which I painted blue and covered with another layer of blue tinted resin. This allowed for a vivid colour while keeping its crystal-like qualities.

I created her necklace peaking out from under her shield in the same manner.

Accessories (flags (?) and ribbons)
For the flags (I wouldn't know how else to call them) I just made a simple pattern that attaches at the back of the neck. I used some fancy trimmings and appliqué for the details and glued the gems needed.

The red ribbons at her neck had the required folds steamed into place. I added interfacing for the extra strength and crisp. A cord runs through the top allowing me to tie them around my neck.

Wig
The wig is a very simple one with clip-on pony tails that I cut and styled. The armour pieces have stick on the inside (i used pencils actually!) that I simply insert inside the ponytails.

Wand/sceptre
This was the most complicated part of the costume. I won't go into too much detail but I mainly used a stick, a ball and many layers of resine. The base of the crystal ball is made from cardboard and craft foam and the bow is red velveteen.

Personal Thoughts:
I love this costume! I worked really hard on it and the way it turned out is just perfect~

I've actually worked on this costume for two years. I was a full time university student at the time and had very little time to allocate to it's construction so it took me over two years to finish it. When I finally got to wear it to a convention, it was the best feeling in the world.

The character herself though isn't very fun to re-enact. She's pretty bland and forgettable. The reason I chose to make this character was simply that she's super cute and her design is very complex with minute details to focus on. Even though nobody knows who I am when I wear her, people are none the less very impressed with the outfit.

I also enjoy designs that do not focus on sexualizing the character! It was an added bonus in my opinion~
