About this Costume
Construction Details:
OH BOY let's take it top to bottom, shall we?

Crown: made from craft foam and worbla, painted with acrylic paints, gold domes were a mix of studs and spray painted cabochons. Held on my head with a disc of foam in the base with pins stuck through my wig into the foam base.

Capelet: Velvet lined inside with a plain cotton, white wool sherpa for the trim. The capelet itself is a circle pattern.

Shirt: White knit for the shirt itself with red milliskin spandex for the red scallop trim. I heat n bonded two pieces of the red spandex together, then very carefully measured and cut out the scallops by hand. I then drew the pattern for the shirt and screenprinted it on.

Skirt: 2-way stretch vinyl. I cut the skirt in a 1/4 circle skirt, then measured out each large scallop, then measuring out each set of scallops upon that scallop. This was then cut out with an exacto knife to get a clean sharp cut. I then measured and drew out a pattern for the white scallops design on top and hand painted it with angelus leather paint.

Belt: red cotton base with a heavyweight gold fabric for the top and bottom edges. I punched holes in my belt and then put the gold studs through. The heart buckle piece was made out of craft foam and worbla, painted, and lined with more studs here.

Boots: Purchased red gogo boots. I took the height down about two inches so the tops of the boots would fall closer to mid-calf, then made and sewed on the boots straps and buckles by hand.

Umbrella: I bought a clear bubble umbrella since it had the correct shape I needed. I then took apart the umbrella and made a new top from red and purple 4 way stretch pvc. I then attached my new piece to the existing umbrella by hand to the individual spokes, and e6000 glued it to the very top. It is inaccurate and still needs the proper white pole and red curled handle, which I plan on finishing u for my next shoot.

Add in lots of patience and dedication to a character and boom, there you go.
Personal Thoughts:
Back when the Thriller Bark arc was first being drawn, I hadn't quite gotten caught up with One Piece at that point (I was back in Skypeia still) but my future bf had said he thought I would make a really good Perona at some point. This costume has been a dream of mine ever since (7 years!!) So to finally make my dream a reality was such an incredibly rewarding experience. Perona is my favorite One Piece girl and I can't even express in words how overjoyed I was to cosplay my spooky ghost princess.
