Cosplayer Cake-Monster Cosplay > Costume of Serah Farron from Final Fantasy XIII-2
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
For this costume, accuracy was my goal, and I made everything from scratch, down to each button. I used vinyl for the belt and one bracelet, dyed white swiss dot fabric pink, then I added the purple gradient. I remade my Serah accessories so they looked nicer and accurate which was the necklace, earrings, and the armlet, which I made using sheet metal. I did make the scrunchie as well. The belt buckles are made from resin (my first time, yay!), and the flowers and turtle buttons are clay. I used floral stems for the sex parts. I also made the shoes. The bases were simple wedge sandals, and I covered with faux suede and leather cording and sequin thingies. I also had the hairtie this time, I made it with a clasp for easy positioning and removal! I also had a revamped bowblade me and my sister made from wood, it transformed like last time, but it also drew back like a bow. I cast resin diamonds for it too, it looked so much nicer.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love this costume very much, and everyone loved it!! It won Judge's Award with my Final Fantasy group at Otakon 2013. I did revamp the bowblade so it transformed and drew back, more accurate, and from wood, but our bellhop broke it before the con, and I was only able to patch it for one shoot :( I did have a backup floatie, and it went over well!
- Styling Notes
- It came prestyled, so all I had to do was cut and style bangs. However, the pony was out of whack, so I took it out and restyled it where I wanted. Then I added my hair accessory.
- Wig Review
- One of my favourite wigs!
