About this Costume
Construction Details:
When I first took on this project, I thought it would be more complicated, but as I broke it down I found that it really wasn\\\'t. The garments are pretty basic, it just needed appropriate fabrics, trim and details to really make it. I used a pattern for the vest because I really liked the fit of the pattern I had, the rest of this was just patterned as I went. It felt like a good \"1st Sakizou\" project... after adding some more detail to this one, I think I want to aim for another one! (Are Sakizou costumes like Pringles? Once you pop, you can't stop?) rnrnOne thing that made me really happy is that much of this costume is either stash-busted or Etsy purchases. Feels good to give $ to a small business rather than a box store :-)
Personal Thoughts:
After a long hiatus, it was really nice to have a new project again, especially a detailed oriented one! I love that kind of stuff! This Sakizou was not as frilly or quite as detailed as the ladies in my group, though I threw in some detailing here and there. I had fun making this, and felt quite dapper wearing it!
