Cosplayer Mikidachan > Costume of Sakura from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
About 90% of this costume was made from a white blended linen. The shirt was self-patterned based off of a pre-existing shirt I had made for Sakura before, and was altered to fit a little better than the first had. The pants are just patterned out from a regular pair of jeans and altered to be larger in the leg and also allow for the bottom to be brought in with a piece of lingere elastic. The mid section was a half circle skirt attached to a center belt piece, along with the middle sash which was a separate piece to be inserted when wearing the costume. The cloak was a full circle skirt that was altered to fit the reference shape (which was achieved by turning it into a bit of an oval), along with an attached hood piece. Part of the fabric was dyed to the purple tone to match the reference while keeping a similar appearance between the fabric. All of the purple accents were patterned according to the pieces of the costume they were associated with and attached with a heavy satin stitch to cover the edges and prevent fraying. The cloak, shirt, and mid section are all serged and lined. Gold accents were added according to reference using a crepe-back satin. All of the blue gems are self cast using Easy Cast resin and backed with blue paper to achieve the color, then attached to the costume using hot glue. Shoe covers were self patterned and attached to a pair of old flats with a little bit of stuffing on the inside to achieve the CLAMP curved shoe. Neck choker was made by creating a thin tube out of crepe back satin and stuffing it.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Even though I had already made a variation of this outfit before, the default brought along some new challenges, specifically with patterning and dye-ing fabric. But sklgbna;knfalgknanle DREAM GROUP this was made specifically to cosplay with a group including a Fai, Kurogane, Syaoran, and Yuuko which has been a dream group of mine since I first started cosplaying. I feel so happy and lucky!!!!
