Cosplayer Katigiri > Costume of Mirai Kuriyama from Beyond the Boundary
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
This costume has 3 main parts--the top, the skirt, and the cardigan.
I made it from some navy-colored suiting and white sateen. I sewed it two days before the con, so it was very very lazy and rushed. I didn't even add sleeves.
Modified from my K-ON skirt, I just sewed white bias tape to the bottom.
This is the piece I get asked about most often. It was a cardigan I bought from Forever 21. It was originally a pink-beige, way too light for Mirai, but the drape and fit was perfect so I went ahead and bought it. I dyed it with RIT dye, using a combo of pink and tan dye. After a dye bath and trip to the washing machine, it turned the color it is now.
Glasses are from Alpaca on Taobao, the shoes are also from Forever 21.
- Personal Thoughts:
- KyoAni released a short trailer a while ago featuring a cute girl with a bob and glasses. I absolutely adored her design, but, because their trailers didn't usually become anime, I didn't really think about cosplaying her. So imagine my surprise when Kyoukai no Kanata was announced, featuring the girl who's design I had fallen in love with!
