Cosplayer Al ☆彡 > Costume of Soujiro Seta from Rurouni Kenshin
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
The hakama and kimono are both made from scratch, with minimal patterning since (like most traditional Japanese garments) they're mostly straight lines; I measured a lot of rectangles. Overall not a difficult costume to put together, the hardest part was measuring out and pleating the hakama.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I had originally bought the fabric for a different character, but when plans fell through I realized I could make more or less what I was planning to with some slight modifications to be Soujiro to match Vikki's Kenshin at this year's Sakura Matsuri! RuroKen was one of my first manga series, so it has a special place in my heart. Soujiro was a character I'd considered cosplaying back in the day, and it was so much fun to get to do him, I'm really glad I did!
- Styling Notes
- Having a short black wig in your arsenal is always handy. :V This is the same one I used for Karkat.
