About this Costume
Construction Details:
I made the bag first, the only fabric that had the right colors was broadcloth, so all pieces are backed with denim for stability. The part that took the longest was figuring out the dimensions, construction-wise it's a simple tote bag with a box bottom, and fabric paint used for the NATURAL logo. I modified Simplicity 5234 for the bodice of the dress, the skirt part is hand-gathered rectangles, and the triangle design is done using acrylic paint. For the cardigan, I found a really thick knit fabric with a nice grain to it, so it looks (and feels!) like an actual cardigan. I used my seifuku top pattern and modified it, adding the bands and side pockets. The ankle strap wedge shoes were purchased on eBay, I added new straps made out of elastic, and painted everything by mixing 2 colors of acrylic paint with fabric medium.
Personal Thoughts:
It took me a looong time to finally check this show out, but it's surprisingly good, and zetsubou will gifting me the Beargguy kit kinda sealed my cosplay fate, haha. The perfect addition to my Acguy collection, I love me some amphibious mobile suits~ and remember kids: always build your own gunpla, there's some hard lessons to be learned if you have someone else do it for you. 8D

Styling Notes
I trimmed and layered the bangs, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, and really nice fibers to work with! The layers in the back ended up being shorter than expected, but I'll deal. Unfortunately the color ended up being way too on the red side for my liking, so I'm hoping that using some brown Sharpies will help tone it down a bit.
Wig Review
The wig cap is suuuper tight on my head, and it feels like the wig is slowly trying to crawl off my head when I wear it. LOL xD;; I'm wondering if I should cut into the elastic on the sides, or just leave it alone. I'm only wearing it for gatherings and photo shoots, so hopefully it won't be too much of a problem, as I'll only be wearing it for 1-2 hours at most.

I picked this wig up during their 35% off sale, and it took about a month to ship because it was part of a restock. I would have been fine with this if I had known about it upfront, because I was charged immediately and kinda expected the wig to ship immediately as well. ^^; Again, their wigs are decent quality, but wait for the sales, and be sure to order well in advance!
