About this Costume
Construction Details:
Even though I kept my original patterns used for the jumper skirt, I still took apart my old one to help pattern the new one. It was too flimsy and beyond salvaging anyway, so at least I was able to put it to some good use! I adjusted some of the measurements a bit and decided not to go all out with seam accuracy, as they disappear into the confetti dot fabric. IMHO it wasn't worth all the trouble, so I only added the seam lines that were absolutely necessary. I wanted this to be sturdier, so there's 3 layers of fabric consisting of the confetti dot fabric, kona cotton for underlining, and apparel lining. I didn't have too much trouble sewing this the second time around, using a jersey knit needle helped a lot (too lazy to change out the needle from my previous project... lol), and making sure to clean off any gunk that piled up. I used a casa satin for all the white details, which is backed with muslin or stretch sateen so it's not see through. The triangles were super annoying to sew, they're not perfect but I tried, and figuring out where to put the side straps took a while! The gold trim on the bottom is casa satin painted using metallic paint and heat set, as it's supposed to be match-y match-y with the accessories. It's a few shades lighter than the metallic paint I used on my original costume, but I think it matches the fabrics better.

I remade the boot covers first, using the pattern I used for my Forever Star ☆ ☆ ☆ costume and adjusting the seam lines. I wanted to have proper boot covers this time, instead of them being boot toppers taped on the bottom. 8D;; They turned out a tad baggy in some areas for whatever reason, so I tried to fix this by taking in the seams, it still needs to be adjusted in some areas. The boot cuffs are casa satin with the corners sewn down as they kept flipping up. I know The side straps are still missing, I even bought gold D rings, but honestly I don't really care to add them. lmao Maybe I'll change my mind later...
Personal Thoughts:
Sooo unfortunately I had to retire my original costume, because it did not survive being carefully stored in my cosplay closet for 2 years. The jumper skirt was in okay condition, but all the accessories?? Yikes. I'm making a new costume entry for this as it's being completely remade, there isn't anything salvaged from the original costume, and I'll be debuting this with a new wig as well! Luxury is one of my favorite costume sets from the series, so I really wanna do it justice this time around!
