About this Costume
- Construction Details:
Used microsuede for the dress and fringe, which I'm not crazy about. It's so flimsy of a material, and not all too flattering, really. Ah well, maybe one day I'll find better material to use!
The necklace was bought from a local shop. It was such a beautiful necklace on its own, and I really wanted to use this unique piece with my cosplay. I'm terrible with bead art as it is! And that's all there pretty much was to the cosplay. Simple really!
- Personal Thoughts:
- I started this in December 2012 and was unhappy with it, since I was still learning how to drape on my dress form at the time, and the fit was a little off. I also got bored of my fabric and didn't really like how it looked after playing with it. Nonetheless, I sucked it up and finished it. While it is a simple costume, I feel that it means it should be all the more well done! So hopefully in the future when I find better materials and fabric to make this, I can tackle it again with more skill and passion. =)<br />
That said, it's super comfy, it does get good feedback, and I love getting to cosplay Pocahontas! I just want to be able to take it further with a better looking dress. ^_^
- How was the wig colored?
- Styling Notes
- No styling needed! Just a lot of careful combing XD
- Wig Review
- Ahhhh, I freaking love this wig. So silky and beautiful. Looks pretty natural! I also love that it's center parted- perfect for Pocahontas.
