Cosplayer daydreamernessa > Costume of Asuka Langley Sohryu from Neon Genesis Evangelion
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- this bodysuit pattern was all created me, no commercial pattern was used. I wanted a really great fit, and most of the prep-work on this costume was fitting the bodysuit to me.
details are stitched on top like an applique. seams are top-stitched since you can't iron vinyl.
armor bits, had bases sculpted by my bf, in these pics we resulted in worbla because we were in time crunch working in the hotel on the armor haha he shaped them, i trimmed them down, and then sealent and paint was applied.
---- more details to come!
- Personal Thoughts:
- First off, since i was in extreme crunch-mode i made a lot of comprimises that i'll have to go back and construct parts how I originally intended to make them. Improvements on the bodysuit, and completely new armor will be made for the next wear :D
Out of any character i could cosplay, Asuka is the one that has the most meaning and connection for me. I love this character so much, and love to portray her! I've always wanted to do a plugsuit, but bodysuits... are very unforgiving. They don't hide anything it's extremely formfitting. I was able to work up the courage this year though and am happy with the result :)
